Nintendo profits down

But Nintendo still rules the roost.

Nintendo has announced that its profits for the six months ending September 30th saw a fall of 59 percent and a fall in revenu of 35 percent.

Operating profit fell from 252.18 billion yen in the same period of 2008 to 04.36 billion yen in 2009.

The company has revised sales of Wii from 26 million to 20 million for the rest of the financial year, with expected software sales down from 220 million to 180 million.

However the company expects DS sales to remain strong and the estimated sales of 30 million units for the handheld remain, albeit with a slight reduction in software sales estimates.

5.75 million Wii consoles were sold in the first half of the financial year taking total sales of the device to 56.14 million.
